Strictly Come Dancing: “My Mouth Got Me The Boot” – Joe
Joes Calzaghe has claimed that he was only voted off Strictly because he bad-mouthed dance rival Craig Kelly.
Nearly everyone else thinks that he was chucked out because he was a bad dancer – but let’s face it, who’s going to say that to his face?
The unbeaten boxer said that he and his dance partner Kristina Rihanoff were effectively frozen out by producers after he slagged off the ex-Corrie star.
Yet he seems to be having a little more success on a personal level, he was seen smooching his dance partner at the Variety club showbiz awards on Sunday night.
“It was something I said about Craig to producers. I won’t say what it was, but it was worse than a swear word,” said Joe.
“It was odd that we were in the bottom two for four weeks running, but that the public kept voting for us. We had the highest number of votes, the producers told us – but then all of a sudden we lost out with the judges.”
“Something was up. You can say Strictly Come Dancing is a fix.” – well what isn’t these days?
A Strictly spokesman said: “Any suggestion the show is fixed is ridiculous.”

Strictly Come Dancing: Phil “Relieved To Be Out”
Phil Tufnell has declared his relief at being booted off the dance show and revealed that he never wanted to take it too seriously in the first place.
The former England cricketer, 43, said he “didn’t know whether to laugh or cry” after losing out in the dance-off to Ricky Groves and Erin Boag.
We’re just glad that after Craig Kelly’s exit, an interview with OTB didn’t jinx EastEnder Ricky.
“It’s a bit of a shame not to be involved but it’s lovely to get back into the swing of normal life,” said Tufnell.
“You get completely absorbed by it. It is a bit of a relief, tinged with some sadness.”
“I worked hard and learned to dance but I had 20 years of playing for my country and that was my career,” he said before admitting that if he had trained as hard during his sports career he would have been a “much better cricketer”.
Turning up to training might have been a start Phil…
“X Factor Is Very Stupid” Says Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris has admitted that he was “stupid” to invade the stage during Jedwards performance of ‘Under Pressure/Ice Ice Baby’ over the weekend – before branding the show itself “very stupid”.
As apologies go, it was far from heart-felt.
The ‘Dance Wiv Me’ singer told reporters that he rushed the twins with a pineapple on his head to make a point about the reality show.
Just what that point was, we’re not sure.
“It’s not for my own publicity. I’m not a celebrity – I make music. Dancing on stage with a pineapple on your head is a very stupid thing to do, but I also want to suggest that it’s a very stupid television programme.
“I was very surprised how easy it was to get up there. If anything good is going to come out of it, they should stick another man in front of the stage.”
Fears that Harris may have wasted a unique opportunity to take out the Grimes brothers during a performance were confirmed last night as an ITV source said: “It was completely unacceptable for Calvin to run on stage like that. It could have been an idiot with a knife. From now on security will be seriously stepped up.”
“There will be more guards in the studio. Anyone who looks like they are going to do something similar will be pounced on immediately.”
In a weekend that saw Mariah Carey sign-up, we saw Jamie Afro sign out….
X Factor: Cowell Orders Mariah To Ditch Strictly
If there was any fight left in Strictly Come Dancing’s ratings challenge, it ebbed away over the weekend when Mariah Carey pulled out of the BBC show – but promised to appear on X Factor.
Although the diva will only be appearing on the ITV show in a performance she pre-recorded last night, it is still a massive blow for the beeb.
A BBC spokesman said: “We had hoped to have Mariah Carey on the show but her schedule changed and made it impossible.”
However according to The Daily Mail, Carey opted out of the show because X Factor boss Simon Cowell said that she could not appear on both programmes, and she opted for X Factor.
After all she has got a single to promote and even if both of Strictly’s viewers had bought it after watching her live, she would still have missed out on an orgy of publicity by turning down X Factor.
A source told the newspaper that BBC executives felt that Carey had been “completely unprofessional” in pulling her performance.
Strictly Come Dancing Interview: Ricky and Erin
The last time we interviewed a couple for Strictly, they were booted off the very next day! Obviously we didn’t mention that to Ricky Groves and Erin Boag.
But we suppose that working for Phil Mitchell might prepare you for intimidating environments.
When we chatted at the hallowed BBC centre, they seemed concerned about the upcoming Viennese Waltz – we were more concerned about Ricky’s ringtone… Read More…
I’m A Celebrity: Z-List ‘Stars’ Head To Jungle
We’re starting to understand why ITV bosses were so desperate to get Jordan back on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here.
If there is such a thing as a Z-List celebrity, then this is the biggest bunch of them that has ever been assembled in the name of entertainment.
Veteran Hollywood actor George Hamilton and former EastEnder Lucy Benjamin lead the line-up and they are backed by a plethora of other has-beens, wannabes and nobodies.
TV chef Gino D’Acampo, Strictly Come Dancing’s Camilla Dallerup, ex-page three girl Samantha Fox, some Hollyoaks actor and Sabrina Washington from girl-band Mis-Teeq complete the line-up.
Interior designing gay-couple Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan are expected to add some much needed controversy to the flagging show – get Peter Andre out there…
Strictly Come Dancing: Craig Branded ‘Donkey’ After Exit
Just a couple of days after telling OTB that he was improving with every show, Craig Kelly has been booted off Strictly Come Dancing.
Maybe we should go and interview Jedward…
“I can’t believe I had to endure that. You’re not as good as you think you are,” said Alesha Dixon, before Craig Revel Horwood laid into him further by saying he resembled a puppet from Thunderbirds.
Craig was visibly disappointed with his low score of 17 out of 40 and branded their comments ‘harsh’ and insisted his dodgy footwork “didn’t deserve that kind of mark”.
Still happy to discuss the competition with anyone who will listen to her – Arlene Phillips told The Sun: “Craig is really deluded about his dancing, he was a blackpool donkey”.
It seems to have slipped her mind that she was technically the first person voted off this year’s show…
Strictly Come Dancing Craig & Flavia Interview

Strictly Come Dancing is off to Blackpool this weekend, but the contestants won’t have time to enter the sandcastle competition – they’ve got bigger fish to fry.
One pair who will be sweating bullets to avoid another dance-off are Flavia Cacace and actor Craig Kelly.
We were delighted when they took time out of their Jacko-like rehearsal schedule to chat to us about Brucey, Titanic and what the hell Craig’s Corrie character did with all Rosie’s money… Read More…
Soap Awards Of The Week – 2 November 2009

If you were having a good time last week, spare a thought for the poor Darren Miller. Just like the mother of his ill-fated child at a buffet – he has a lot on his plate.
The mite hasn’t even started revising for his GCSE mocks yet and at this rate, his exam failure is about as predictable as the annual soapland firework safety plot-line.
So which character’s turn is it to get third-degree burns in the name of public welfare this year?
Who says romance is dead? After seeing Corrie newbie Jake risk imprisonment for a quick smooch, certainly not us.
The buff handyman quite literally dropped in on the bar-maid as she enjoyed a bath with a bit of Fleetwood Mac, and when her towel fell off, he did what every self-respecting man with a pair of eyes would have done – he gives her a proper snog.
Nice one son! Read More…
Heather Mills Favourite To Be First Celeb Off ‘Ice’
Bookmakers are notoriously good at gauging public opinion, but they would not have needed to call in their top forecasters to predict how Heather Mills would do in next year’s Dancing On Ice.
Only having one leg would be seen by many as quite a large disadvantage in such a competition.
But when you consider that she is about as popular with the British public as Nick Griffin is at his local mosque, the outcome becomes even easier to foresee.
As such betting bosses have made the ‘charity worker’ one of the favourites to make an early exit – if she makes it to the competition at all.
William Hill has now announced that it is offering odds of 3/1 that Mills will be the first celebrity to be voted off the programme.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: “Heather did well in the American version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, but she would be unlikely to win a popularity contest in the UK and we don’t expect her to last long.”
Such a shame.
