X Factor’s James Arthur in YouTube Copycat Scandal

James Arthur of the X Factor has been accused of copying off an established YouTube star. Arthur performed a cover of LMFAO’s ‘Sexy and I Know It’, which Gary Barlow described as “The performance of the series”, but it was extremely reminiscent of a cover by YouTube Act Only1Noah, whose version has already racked up 13.5 million views.

This isn’t the first time X Factor’s been caught in a plagiarism storm: last year’s runner up Marcus Collins released a version of Seven Nation Army, which many found a bit too similar to that of the French soul singer Ben L’Oncle Soul.
