Keith Allen is to be administered party drug MDMA for a new Channel 4 documentary.

He’s one of several celebrities to feature on the programme, rumored to be titled Drugs Live, which will look at how drugs affect the brain. The study will be conducted by Imperial College London boffins David Nutt and Robin Carhart Harris.

Nutt entered the public consciousness when he was sacked from his job as Chairman of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs after stating that ecstasy (MDMA) was less dangerous then horse riding, and that risks of triggering psychosis from cannabis usage were “relatively small”.

Channel 4′s David Glover said; “This subject is fraught with controversy and confusion. The aim is to bring new clarity to the facts of illegal drug use”, whereas a source told The Sun that Allen was looking forward to getting “stuck in.”

With an air date of September being chucked around, we’ll have to wait and see what the results are. However, it seems more likely that Allen will have a really great time in an MRI machine, as opposed to an all night session at some Set-aside near Luton.
