Moffat Praises ‘Brilliant’ Gambon In Christmas Doctor Who
Sherlock and Doctor Who head honcho Steven Moffat has praised Michael Gambon’s performance in this Winter’s Doctor Who Christmas Special. Gambon, who has appeared in Harry Potter (as Albus Dumbledore), Layer Cake and Ali G Indahouse, will play Kazran (of whom little is known).
Moffat could barely contain his glee as he spoke to Premium Hollywood about having the legendary actor on the Doctor Who set: “He’s brilliant. Of course he’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. What a voice.”
The Christmas special, though as yet untitled, is based around Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and would involve “a clever twist” – I wonder if the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come have a fondness for bowties and braces? (or perhaps a fez – please let the fez return!)
