Beeb To Lose Rights To Mad Men?

Having lost several high profile shows in recent years, including the rights to broadcast The Simpsons to Channel 4, the BBC must be working up a right sweat as rumours are beginning to circulate they are about to be outbid for the next season of Mad Men.

Fans eagerly awaiting the fourth series of the highly acclaimed US show that charts the advertising world and social mores of 1960s America is a hot property for many TV executives desperate to wrestle the rights away from the Beeb who are facing tough economic times.

BBC2 controller Janice Hadlow announced that : “Obviously we want the fourth series of Mad Men” but wouldn’t comment on how far the channel will go to try and keep a hold on a show that attracts millions of viewers.
