If you’re a huge Doctor Who fan, with an unquenchable thirst for the man himself – then you’ll be buoyed by the news that the BBC has announced a free episodic Doctor Who game for PC and Mac.

Titled Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, it will feature the current new Doctor in a series of predicaments.

Scripted by Waters Of Mars co-writer Phil Ford and Torchwood: Children Of Earth‘s James Moran, the adventure games will contain the actual voices of new-man Matt Smith and Karen Gillian, as well as their likenesses.

Obviously seen as a way to cater for the more involved viewer, head writer and executive producer Steve Moffat said, “Children don’t just watch Doctor Who – they join in…They make up games, invent their monsters, create their own stories. Now, there’s something else – now they can be the Doctor in brand new episodes.”
The details of each episode are currently under wraps, but they are believed to feature one location which is yet to be seen before on screen. They will also include new and original monsters and stories that will feature in the wider series.

The first episode, available for free from the BBC website, will be released in June.
