Desperate Housewives Creator Sued By Star
It looks like the Desperate Housewives aren’t the only ones behaving badly on Wisteria Lane. The creator of the show, Marc Cherry, is being sued by former star of the show Nicolette Sheridan for assault and battery.
According to TMZ, Sheridan was smacked across the chops by Cherry in 2008 after she complained that her character, Edie Britt, was killed off the show.
The lawsuits claims that “Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.” Ouch.
Other claims are of gender violence and wrongful termination for which Sheridan is suing Cherry for a whacking great $20 million. Nobody likes taking a hit to the face but that’s a bit much isn’t it?
In the lawsuit, Sheridan describes Cherry as “behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show.”
It looks like co-star Teri Hatcher had her friend’s back and tried to go over Cherry’s head to complain about his behaviour. Cherry’s response was, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.”
What a gentleman.
