Thomas Turgoose, star of This Is England has revealed that a mini-series sequel to the hit 2006 film will start filming shortly.

The Shane Meadows cult classic depicted the life of a dissaffected young man (“I’ve been picked on three times today, and all because of my trousers..”) swallowed up by BNP culture in the wake of his father’s death in the Falklands war.

“It’s going really well. We’re doing a lot of rehearsals and costume fittings,” Turgoose told Digital Spy. “I’ve got a pre-shoot on Wednesday in Grimsby so I’m really looking forward to that.”

However the young actor who played Shaun in original, doesn’t think the hard-hitting tone of the film will be toned down for television. “A lot of it is quite full on,” he said, “but it’s fun. I think it will be a really good series and do well.”

“I can say that it’s time for Shaun to kind of grow up and do something. He can’t hang around with his friends all day. Basically, the whole gang have got to get jobs and grow up a little bit. Interesting things happen with Woody, and with Milky and Lol. Every single character has got a really strong story.”
