After Melinda Messenger left Live From Studio Five, we were worried for the fate of the show.

OK, we weren’t really bothered, but we did enjoy the stars sniping at each other in the press. And now Melinda’s replacement is stepping into the fray.

Emma Willis will be filling the role after bosses were impressed when she guest hosted the show.

Willis told The Sun, “I can’t wait to be part of the chat and banter on the show.”

Chris Shaw, head of Five news and current affairs is also delighted to have her joining the show, describing Willis as, “Great fun, she’s a young, modern mum and she gets on brilliantly with Ian and Kate”.

She’ll begin her new job as a full-time host sometime after Easter.
