Gavin & Stacey star James Corden will be appearing in the new series of Doctor Who which kicks off at Easter.

The comedian was spotted learning his lines on a train to the set in Cardiff and when asked by onlookers what he was up to, he spilled the beans on his cameo with the new timelord Matt Smith.

“We normally keep our guest stars under wraps but you can’t hide a bloke like James,” a show insider told The Sun. “And now he’s not coming to Wales for Gavin And Stacey any more, it’s pretty obvious why he is here.”

Apparently Corden is a massive fan of the sci-fi show and he jumped at the chance to appear in an episode with new Doctor Matt Smith who has taken over from David Tennant after his Christmas crescendo.

“James loves coming to Wales,” the insider continued. “And it gives him a chance to meet up with Ruth Jones, who co-wrote Gavin and Stacey with him and starred as Nessa.”
