SilurianThey’ve been in hibernation under our feet for 26 years but a tribe of Silurians are about to wake up and wreak havoc – they’re grouchy in the mornings.

Doctor Who fans had been calling for the return of the lizard creatures since they last appeared in 1984 when they built their own nuclear weapons.

The show’s new boss Steven Moffat is reported to have bowed down to their demands and will bring back the reptilian humanoids in the next series.

Neve McIntosh, who has been cast as one of the monsters told The Sun she is watching old episodes to try and figure out how Silurians think.

Speaking to the tabloid she said: “They’re one of the Silurian tribes that have been undisturbed under the earth. And of course we get disturbed.?

The Silurians were first seen on our screens in 1970 when they tried to spread a virus that would wipe out the human race so they could reclaim the earth.

Isaac Morrison says:

I thought it was Sea Devils, because in the trailer is a disc shaped weapon, like in ‘The Sea Devils’ im 1972
