gervais210x300British funnyman Ricky Gervais, creator of The Office, has reportedly agreed to appear on the US version of the hit show.

Gervais spoke to The Sun about the appearance saying that, “I think it would be funny for David Brent to walk into the US Office and hear them go ‘Oh my God, there’s two of them!’ We don’t need to know about Brent’s back story – the English office exists in a cocoon.”

Fans of the show should be delighted at the prospect of seeing Steve Carrell, star of the Office US, and Gervais together at last, even though American audiences don’t always seem to appreciate his humour.

Though we thought he was great as the host of this year’s Golden Globe awards, Americans had a mixed reaction to him.

Gervais also hinted that he wouldn’t be bringing Tim, Gareth or anyone from Slough with him on the trip to the US. “I don’t think we’ll take any of the other UK characters over – we’ll probably leave it with just me as it’s just too complicated.”

“Michael Scott could just bump into Brent who is a bloke from England.”
Can’t wait.
