billnighy210x300A insider on the set of Doctor Who has revealed to DigitalSpy that Bill Nighy will appear in a guest role on an episode of the hit show.

In the episode written by Richard Curtis Nighy is set to play the curator of a Vincent Van Gogh exhibition.

The insider told DS that, “It was a real coup to get Bill Nighy in Doctor Who, especially in Richard Curtis’s amazing episode. Bill plays a van Gogh expert with some similar fashion choices to The Doctor himself.”

Tony Curran had previously been confirmed as Van Gogh which will reunite him with his Underworld Evolution co-star Nighy.

The episode was film in Croatia and Cardiff and will apparently be set in 19th Century France as well as modern day. We’re kind of hoping Nighy is the bad guy in the episode; he gives good villain.
