michael_mcintyre The nation’s most over-exposed comedian Michael McIntyre has signed a new ‘golden handcuffs’ deal with the BBC, a report claims.

According to the Daily Mail, the comedian has landed a £500,000 contract which will keep him at the corporation for another 12 months.

It is thought that the deal prevents McIntyre from working for other broadcasters and will see him continuing with his Comedy Roadshow programme.

A source said: “He will be doing a Comedy Roadshow and has said he is not going to do anything else. What the situation will be in a year’s time I don’t know. But he is not going anywhere.”

Another insider added: “Michael is very happy at the Beeb, so it makes perfect sense for both sides. Michael is one of the hottest talents on TV right now.”
