EastEnders Bosses Deny Suicide Plot Rumours
The BBC has moved to quash rumours that Bradley Branning will commit suicide next month after a tabloid newspaper claimed the popular red-head will leap to his death in a heart-breaking EastEnders twist.
It was claimed that the character was set to jump from a building in Albert Square after being implicated over Archie’s death, but according to Digital Spy a BBC spokesperson has denied these claims.
“We will not comment on Bradley’s exit storyline other than to say he does not commit suicide,” they told the website.
However according to The Sun, insiders believe the controversial storyline could be real: “By killing a main character with a sympathetic suicide, the writers are breaking one of the last taboos. There have been a few soap suicides of minor characters over the years but never of someone so central and so well-loved by viewers,” said one.
Apparently bosses had promised Charlie Clements who has been playing Bradley since 2006 a big send-off.
It has also emerged that another massive storyline is in the pipeline as after a meandering police investigation, Archie’s killer will be revealed in dramatic circumstances on 19th February.
