graham norton 210x300Tabloid headlines this morning are reporting that saucy TV personality Graham Norton has landed a deal with the BBC that will see him signed to them till 2012 for £4 million.

The Sun is reporting that Norton’s contract started on New Year’s Day and the deal will actually see him take a big pay cut of £500,000 a year.

In addition to his own talk show Norton is also slated to host the Eurovision again Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for the next Dorothy in Over The Rainbow.

This may just be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Beebs excessive paychecks with Jonathan Woss set to take a paycut as well.

But if he’s still employed then it’s not a big enough cut. While we’re cutting things maybe someone could take a look at his hair as well.

Astaroth says:

When highly trained and really useful people such as doctors and nurses are paid a pittance, isn’t there something really wrong with a society which pays a useless person £4 million simply for spouting smutty inanities on TV?

Wouldn’t it be more sensible to concentrate funding on maintaining the infrastructure of this country, and pay so-called ‘entertainers’ what they are REALLY worth … which is really very little indeed!
