simpsons cowellThe black cloud of X Factor, Simon Cowell will appear in a series of specials for Sky 1 next year to celebrate The Simpsons’ 20th anniversary.

The three programmes titled Access All Areas, Mischief And Mayhem and Celebrity Friends, will air on January 14.

In the first of the three specials, well known celebrity experts on comedy and animation including Simon Cowell and Hugh Heffner will volunteer their opinions as to why they think the animated comedy has been so successful.

Next week, Danielle Lloyd dissects Keynesian Economic Theory.

Mischief and Mayhem will examine the controversy surrounding the series (presumably middle America’s criticism of the decline of the traditional family unit. Oh and that bit when Groundskeeper Willie called the French “Cheese-eating surrender monkeys?)

Celebrity Friends will take a look at the multitude of A-list stars they’ve had on the show over the years, you know those episodes where they ran out of jokes so decided to crowbar some celebs in as an attraction instead, and will probably include that cringe-worthy bit where Tony Blair made an appearance to try to look cool.
