cowWhen Simon Cowell expanded the X Factor this year, it’s fair to say that there were a few critics who didn’t approve of the new format.

Not us though. We can’t get enough of these nerve-ridden Sunday night shows.

So we were pleased to hear that the flat-haired music boss has plans to make the 2010 competition even bigger still.

According to reports, a freshly shaved Cowell wants to have 16 finalists in next year’s event and host the final at Wembley Arena.

“The minute you start assuming that the audience is very happy to see the same show again, you’re dead,” Cowell told the Daily Star.

Apparently he is also planning to switch the mentor system so that each judge gets an act from the four categories – boys, girls, groups and over-25s.

Cowell is also reportedly considering having a rotating fifth judge, with a different celebrity guest working with the panel each week.
