Studio Five Loses 50% Of Audience

Five’s new flagship teatime chat show, Live From Studio Five, has reportedly lost over half of its viewers since debuting last week.

The chilled out chat show, fronted by Melinda Messenger, Ian Wright and Apprentice runner-up Kate Walsh, got off to a roaring start last week by nabbing Katie Price for its first show and then Peter Andre for its follow-up!

Yet the shiny, glossy ‘we’re all bestest chums together’ schtick was always going to be a hard sell and while it debuted on impressive figures of 476k (2.6% of the audience share), last night’s show pulled in only 230k in the same time slot.

Now, we’re no Carol Vorderman, but that’s not great maths.

So what do you think the problem is? Annoying presenters? Shallow format? Or are you just too busy cooking/pubbing/gyming to even notice it’s on? Sound off below!

Or give the hosts a bit of a boost by reading our exclusive interview with Kate Walsh shortly before the first episode aired. The enthusiasm’s infectious, we tell thee…..
