Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant have given the green-light to a one-off The Office: The Opera performance in London.

Calls from the Slough tourist board for the show to return to the town were absolutely ignored by pretty much everyone.

The show, which featured in the comedy writer’s sketch for this year’s Comic Relief, will take place at the Proud Galleries in Camden.

Anyone who has seen the first series will know that David Brent could produce couple of songs when the occasion called for it, and there are reports that his old band opened for a little-known act called Texas.

The gig, which will take place on Wednesday, August 19, will be performed in association with Comedy Crunch and all donations will go to charity.

So when Gareth starts singing, remember it’s for a good cause.
