Futurama voices to be recast
So Futurama has been re-instated six years after being cancelled by Fox, and well, do they have some surprises in store for Season 6.
20th Century Fox, who are continuing to produce the series to air on Comedy Central, have decided to recast the major voice roles for the show.
That means no more Billy West (Fry, Professor, and Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), or John DiMaggio (Bender). What the…?!
Fox released a statement saying: “We love the Futurama voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands. While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to give voice to Matt and David’s brilliantly subversive characters.”
Brilliantly subversive they may be now, but is this at all a possibility after the raping of the voices we have grown to know and love?
We can’t see how this is ever going to work. Sort it out, Fox.
