The 17 year old from Lancashire will being playing the lead part of Laura in a revival of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Originally on the stage in 1992, the show was later turned into a movie called Little Voice with Jane Horrocks in the part.
During her time on the show she was mentored by Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and had a session with Take That, after which Gary Barlow said that he would happily sign her.
Vickers, who made it to the semi final of the last season of X Factor, is known for her kooky performance style and her unusual song choices, preferring to perform male vocal parts.
The character Vickers will be portraying is a singer who can impersonate famous people like Shirley Bassey. Time will tell if Vickers’ timid voice and general lack of stage presence will be up to the challenge. With an album currently in the works too, the strain could prove to be too much for the young star.
