ricky-gervais-screenshot400x210The Frong has landed. No, its not some kind of French string-like underwear, it’s Ricky Gervais’ new charity Flanimal.

Featured in a one-off piece of artwork created by Britain’s best export, the only picture of the Frong in existence is being auctioned off on ebay to raise money for the No Surrender Charitable Trust. Just check out this clip to see Gervais work his permanent marker magic. The Frong appears to be a blue fish-shaped Flanimal whose torso merges into one elephant-sized foot.

When describing its character,  Gervais comments, “It pobbles a lot. It’s slightly snurbulent but nowhere near as snurbulent as as the Coddleflop, (and) it’s gwenkular. That’s where it’s name comes from.”

Gervais continues his habit of turning everything he touches into gold. After the US success of The Office, Flanimals is the next show. ITV have commissioned a Flanimals series to be aired this year and whilst drawing the Frong’s unique portrait Gervais also hinted at the possibility of a Flanimals movie but that it would take “about three years”.

OTB have marked 2012 on the calendar in eager anticipation.
