Ant and Dec get ready to rumble with charity singles
The geordie-tongued, two-headed monster of ITV’s weekend programming that is Ant and Dec have set themselves a rather musical challenge this Saturday…and no, thank the lord, it doesn’t involve any lyrics containing the words ‘Let’s get ready to rumble’…
Wai-ai-man…they’ve only combined the philanthropic task of recording a couple of charity singles to raise money for a few charitites with some good clean Saturday entertainment.
As part of their Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway antics both the Ant and also the Dec team went head to head and recorded a charity single each this week. Team Ant opted for an S-Club Seven classic, Don’t Stop Moving while Dec’s team put the cheese machine on full throttle with Wham‘s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.
ITV’s Tamara Gilder says “”It has been a great week for Ant v. Dec The Teams. Not only have we got to hear Lembit Opik singing an S Club classic but we’ve been raising money for three great charities – Childline, Help the Aged, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Ant & Dec really enjoyed getting back into the recording studio, but I can’t say that a PJ and Duncan reunion is on the cards just yet! Personally I’m very excited about seeing the teams perform their singles live on Saturday’s show.”
The pair are relying on people to act on their song of choice and download the tuneful wonders before this Saturday 21st February at 5pm.
With that phone-in malarkey a long way behind them, the pair have high hopes for viewer response.
