Now, you will have heard of the Wire. The police drama, penned by Ed Burns and David Simon, is basically the best thing to EVER be on television and has managed to accrue 9.7/10 on IMDb of 14,443 votes, which is impressive by any measure. The Wire’s been keeping everyone on tenterhooks and I keep getting hit for telling people what happens so I won’t do that. I will, however, tell you what happens next in the story of Burns and Simon.

They write Generation Kill. It premieres on HBO in June last year for our lovely American cousins and recieves great reviews and decent viewing figures. This is good enough for the honchos at FX, who snap it up. It airs on UK television from 25th January. IT AIRS ON UK TELEVISION FROM 25TH JANUARY. My palms are actually sweating.

Set in the Iraq war, Generation Kill is based on Rolling Stone reporter Evan Wright’s book and follows Lee Tergesen as Wright as he is embedded with the first wave of the American led assault on Baghdad in 2003. Please, please watch it. It will make you a better person, and that’s an onthebox guarantee!
