Sold?: Haribo Drop the Creepy Cartoons (mostly) and Invest in Half Decent Child Actors

This is the new advert from Haribo, which is part of their wider campaign showing on TV, cinema, radio and online.  Sticking with their trademark “Kids and Grown-ups love it so..? theme tune, this offering upholds that each packet of Haribo is a bag of wholesome family fun to be shared by all, and thankfully has no weird little animations.

Showing a dad being interrogated by his family over whether he ate all the fried egg sweets, the stars here are the good cop/bad cop brother and sister.  You’ll either love it or hate it, largely depending on your tolerance for child actors and children in general really.  I have to say, I’m quite a fan of the forceful little girl in this, who like every youngest child, knows they can win over their parents.  She reminds me of an angry Tiffany from Eastenders (you have to love the recent addition of Bianca’s droll daughter to the typically cheerless soap).

This is definitely a step in the right direction for Haribo, away from trippy little cartoon boys and bears in the “happy? world of Haribo (did anyone else think that Haribo were hallucinogenic after watching those?…)- ok, so there’s a bear right at the end but he just sings the theme tune so that’s allowed.
